We are going to explore some of the coolest Airbnb’s in the United States in some of the most remote locations. Each of these places has something to offer in their own unique way from the hobbit hole to the man cave. I did a lot of digging to be sure that I bring you some of the most exceptional homes across the U.S. If you are not a member of Airbnb yet, you can get your first $35 off by using our link here.
Underground Hygge
This Airbnb is inspired by the famous Hobbit hole from the lord of the ring series. This unique Airbnb is located in Orondo, Washington, and sits on 6 acres for you to explore and hike. The Columbia River Gorge mountainside surrounds the home. There is a door in the bedroom that you can keep open if you would love to see the view of the scenery that surrounds you. This Airbnb has a lot of unique features such as the quintessential round door, which was made from a cable spool as well as the metal in the door was custom made by a local designer. The square footage is 288 with a rounded barrel ceiling to give off that cozy vibe. The house offers one bedroom, one bathroom equipped with a shower/tub, a toilet and a sink. The floor in this Airbnb is another unique thing about this place because of the corkwood floor, not to mention it took 1200 rounds to complete it. To get to it, you will need to walk up a trail that is about a tenth of a mile from the parking lot, but keep in mind that it is steep, but it will be well worth the 5-minute walk to get there. This is the perfect place for a couple that wants to get away on a romantic trip or for a single traveler that just wants to be secluded from the world for a couple of days.
Silo Studio Cottage
The Silo Studio Cottage is located on the Santarella Estate in the Berkshires in Western Massachusetts. This cottage used to be a summer studio to Henry Kitson. This cottage is two stories with 35 ft. High, upstairs there is a canopy queen bed with views of the trees and Lilly ponds. The downstairs consists of a sitting room that looks out to the brook and the gardens. This Airbnb is undoubtedly one of the most unique places I have yet to come across. If you want to venture out and explore, the property has 2 acres with a trail that loops back around. If you want to explore the city a little bit, there is a swimming pond about 2 miles away that also has picnic tables as well as BBQ grills. This is a one-bedroom, one-bath Airbnb and would be suitable for a couple or a solo person. Did I mention that the upstairs bedroom has many windows that allows for a lot of natural light to seep through while also getting to admire the beautiful scenery around you. The property is gorgeous, and the Airbnb is a “WOW” factor in my book. If you are looking for a one-of-a-kind experience, then this is most certainly the place for you.
Adobe Dome
The Adobe Dome is located in Terlingua, Texas, and is near the Big Bend National Park. The Dome is very remote and off the grid, and at night the views of the sky are something out of this world. The Adobe Dome is isolated, but it is just a short 25-minute drive to Big Bend National Park as well as one of the Terlingua ghost town. This Airbnb is an earthen structure that is made up of a cob barrier that provides shelter from the desert elements. It has one bed, a small kitchenette, a private outhouse, and a solar bag outdoor shower, however, that is the only shower on site unless you want to take a shower in town, and it will typically cost you $2. This Airbnb runs on all solar panels, and the sink water is used from collected rainwater. The owner does suggest that visitors bring their own drinking water, but bottled water Is offered at a cost. There is nothing comparable to this Airbnb, the views, or the off the grid experience. I recommend staying a minimum of 3 nights to experience all that this place has to offer. This is the perfect place for a couple, a single person, or even up to 3 people as it provides a bed and a small futon for the 3rd person to sleep on. The views that you will get from the sky at night and the sunrises in the morning are things you won’t see anywhere else.
ManCave Apartment
The mancave apartment is the ultimate Airbnb for any man to escape to if they want the real “”man cave”” experience. This Airbnb is located in Geneva, Florida and sits on 20 acres of land that also has other Airbnb Venues on site. The man cave itself is located inside the owner’s airplane hanger. While staying on the property, you will come across some animals such as alpacas, goats, chickens, and even a kitty. The garage on the side of the Airbnb is an active garage where the owner works on classic cars as well as other things. You have the opportunity to milk a goat or go horseback riding during your stay. The man cave Airbnb itself is nothing I’ve seen before; it is eccentric! In the Airbnb, you will notice many cool things being hung from the walls and ceiling. This is the perfect vacation for any men out there that want a manly environment for a few days. I genuinely feel as though you need to see this place in person to get the vibe of this place.

As I always say, remember to throw away your trash when leaving and exploring and appreciating the places around you without interfering with wildlife and removing any type of coral, shells, and rocks.
